Some Poem i found, i like it

if life is water
than maybe im a drop
that looks just exactly
like everone else

and if im drop
than how do i create
the waves that you've said
you wanted to me to make

im nothing without you
all of my life is
a convenient little second
that should show your truth

if life is dirt
than maybe im a pebble
laying on the ground
waiting to be found

and if im a pebble
than how do i make myself
the rock that
you've called me to be

if life is seeing
than maybe im blind
maybe being blind
is better i'll find

promise to lead me
and show me the way

steady and unchanging

ehh kidna cheesy, i guess, but i like it.
God calls us to all sorts of amazing things. and were not gonna meet all of em, unfortunately, were not perfect, were just not going to, yeah that kinda stinks. but heres the great thing, no matter what happens to us, he is with us always, even if we dont want him to be. So next time you are having a tuff day, or ur just freaking confused(like me) just remember whose sitting next to you going through it with you

guidance(little bit of a vent here)

sooooo, right now, like as in five minutes ago. some things just came up that made my life really confusing, like i thought i knew how things were going and then blehhh.... not so much. i guess thats what happens when one just tells himself what he likes to hear, to much of the salesman in me. and its not like this is the most important thing that god has everplaced in my path. but its still a big deal. so right now, im praying for guidance, and if neone else who reads this would too, thatd be awesome, thanks guys and gals

Rain

So after hearing and watching the Nooma video tonight(which btw they are awesome, u should buy them all lol jk, but they really are good stuff) i've gathered my thoughts and as normal thought i'd spill em here.

Rain. and no i'm not talking about getting wet. I'm talking about the storms that come with em. what are your storms of life. what are the things in your life that make u just cry out with every ounce of your being for help? what just keeps on and keeps on wearing you down, till there's nothing but you? we've all had storms, it happens, if you are sitting there saying you have never had anything go wrong in your life, not to be offensive, you are oblivious. we live in turmoil, caused by a little thing called Sin. another blog for another time. but why? why does the loving caring giving merciful God, let his own creations get worn down to the very essence of who we are? because its who we are, who we really are, not the person we are at skool, not the one who slides on the happy face because its a formality. No, God's after the part of us that sits in us all day long, and we never let that person out. The part of us that God is after is our Identity not just who we are, but what we are. He wants the part of us that during the absolute worst part of our lives, during the greatest you've had to fair yet, will choose to hold on to Him and never let go, and let Him hold you back. (this is the part from the Nooma video) and when the loudest thunder cracks and the rain is blowing sideways and everything is crashing down, he whispers in your ear "I Love You buddy" "We're gonna make it!" "Dad knows the way" ahh gosh, its just all so true. he loves us so much he's NEVER gonna let go of us even if we try to push him away. We are going to make, just stick with him and dont give up, he's not gonna test you past what can handle, promise. and at the very end of the storm after all the trees are broken, after everything that you know is all jumbled up. you ask God why did you let me go through that, and he answers "I wouldn't give those moments up for the life of my Son". man idk, i know i'm rambling but its just so powerful, thanks Tom for showing taht and thanks all for listening kinda a long one tonight, sorry about taht.

Be Thou My Vision

lol the way this came was kinda dorky, we have this really awesome peice in band, its a version of "Be Thou My Vision" and i cld explain theoretically why its so awesome, but that would bore most of you, except matt, who would get it. so lately bc of that i've been walking around around the skl with it in my head, or humming it, singing it(yes i sing at skl, and its kl :) and i started to think about it, and thats been the basis for my prayer for a while, it goes a lil somethin like this.

Father, be my vision and my path, you obviously have a much better clue about my life than i do. Be Lord of my heart because you know whats best for it too. You are the best part of all of my day. Know it or not, you are my path and my light. Be thou My vision, oh lord of my heart. not be all else to me save that thou art. Thou my best thought, by day or by night. Waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.

Fear(thanks megan)

scripture: Matthew 14:22-36 (read first)

Fear: False evidence appearing real

in this scripture, after the disciples leave the shore Someone starts walking out to them on the water "surely it is a ghost" some of the disciples screamed. now its important that the disciples were scared, not good, but important, it teaches us something. They were the best, the 12 ppl that Jesus, the Son of God wanted to travel the area with him havin fun and sharing the word. i guess it happens to the best of us, not that should, but it does, we are alllll sinners. we all screw up. but we cant live in fear. Peter, The Rock, then calls out to Jesus and says if its you, tell me to come out, and let me walk with you. Jesus says, alrighty(not exactly but u get it) and he steps out. now think about it from Pete's view, your jumping out of a boat, in the middle of the ocean while all hell is breaking loose. WOW that takes some serious guts. but he gets out there and then all of a sudden he realizes what he's done and where he is. The evedince of the waves crashing down, appearing that he would soon be dead, was real, but false, funny how that works huh? but its completely parralleled to our lives. we dedicate our entire lives to doing everything we can to go out to all nations to share the good news, wow takes guts. but we get out there and realize what exactly is happening and where we are, and we fall apart, just like Peter did. happens to all of us, we all get scared of whats going on, but we just gotta remember that Jesus is there reaching out to us, and all we gotta do is reach back out to him, and hold on for the ride of our lives, later

we all get lost

today's is different, no scripture basis really, just some thoughts i've gathered

"you're lost, and thats okay, because we get lost sometime or another..." thats from Drumline(the movie) and completely true. your lost, your hurt, your confused, and you really couldt care any less than you already do. and i just think its important to know taht its okay to be lost, its okay to have doubts about God. its okay and its natural, you just cant let em control you. if you let doubt control your life, chrisian or not, you will live in fear and as i heard in a movie i saw tonight(The Ghost Rider) "you can't live in fear". its true, if u live in fear and doubt satan's got you exactly where he wants you. its okay to be lost, and if any body is lost, and wanna talk about it, send me a message or a comment, i'd be more that happy to talk to you about it.

(i say read first, bc unlike last post its not the scipture basis. this wont make sense if dont read it lol)

Now, first thoughts, How low of David. this is gods guy, like "a man after God's own heart" to say it like the biblio does, and he goes and does that!!!? now, im not saying im perfect by any stretch but to get someone killed to have their wife, like bam three commandments with one stone, ouch.
Second thoughts. the more that i sat and thought about this, i realized that i am not perfect, and its not my place to judge which sin is worse than the other, i am a sinner just as David was and in that we are equal, just like all of the human race. but that is another blog for another time(maybe next one!).
Third thoughts, after all of this, God forgives David and blesses him with a son, that the lord "loves" and will later be one of the best kings of his and all times. i guess what i'm saying is, this just goes to show that no matter how big the goof-up is, God is good, God is just, and God is merciful.
Real life application: next time someone ticks you off, steals ur girl or boy, is just mean, or whatever. remember God forgave and so should we, he calls us to(Mark 11:25) he says that if we cant forgive other people, christian or not, than he can't forgive us. not to mention, i screw up, u screw up, so does everyone else, its nice not to catch crap about it all the time honestly. So i challenge you for the next time someone is really getting your goat, just remember who forgave you the time it mattered, and what he would do when someone screwed up.

1 Thesis

After seeing the youth blog i thought it'd be cool to have a blog thing too, for my own little set of devo's i guess, i wouldnt call em that, matt's are better read his(www.nicholasvilleumyouth.blogspot.com)
but some things first the reasoning of the name of this blog 1 thesis, when Martin Luther formed the protestant church he created 95 thesises(or thesi?) that seperated his beliefs from the catholic church, a lil history for y'all. Now, as for me and my name, i have one thesis, just one thing that i think if we got this on track everything, i mean everything else would fall into place. Just Love. let me elaborate, love God with Everything, love others with Everything, especially your enemies. who needs a doctor more the sick or healthy? and the last part Love Yourself with Everything, now dont be thinking, but i dont want to be selfish. i dont want you to either. but something that a ton of people miss is that even though we deserve hell, God loves us, and that makes us worthwhile. Every last single person on earth has an identity in christ, we must realize it, and love it, and nourish it. soo after a huge explanation. 1 Thesis: Love.
